Everybody loves a decked out website. As long as it’s easy to navigate and scroll through, your visitors are sure to have a great experience and quickly convert to customers. Right?

Not necessarily. We’ve found that there are some pretty important elements of a website that can make or break the business’ online success. Take a look at these website features and consider including them on your own site to attract more business; we’re recommending them for a reason!

Contact Form

So you’ve listed your email address on your Contact page; that’s fantastic! But what about the user who is viewing your website on a mobile device? Or the customer that doesn’t have their inbox pulled up and doesn’t have time to send you an email? It’s not a huge step, but it’s one that could open up more lines of communication with the customers that you aren’t reaching with your current set up. Add a contact form on your Contact page, and maybe your homepage as well. Hey, while you’re at it, maybe the rest of your internal pages could benefit from a contact form at the bottom, too!

Call to Action

It’s really nice of you to casually throw your phone number into the text on your pages, but want to know a secret? Not everyone is reading those paragraphs. Placing a call to action front and center on every page possible will really help with conversions. Drive your website traffic to the pages you want them to land on with the click of a button. Does it sound too easy to be true? Then try it out.

Prominent Contact Information

It isn’t enough just to display a phone number or address in the footer of your website, or on your Contact page. Make the important details part of your header! A list of appropriate info would include, but is not limited to: full business name, phone number, service areas, social media connections, the option to write a review, email address, or perhaps the owner’s picture. That’s a long list, so you should only include the information that is applicable to your business.

Outside of the header, just make sure that your customers have ample opportunity throughout the website to connect with your business. Don’t make it hard for them, because in this fast-paced day and age, they won’t search for long before moving on to a different company.

Responsive Design

You’ve heard it before, and we’ll say it again: responsive design is crucial for online success. Responsive web design will make your site visually appealing for both desktop and mobile users, but responsive designs also tend to load faster and they are easier to navigate. If you haven’t jumped on this bandwagon yet, you need to.

Video Introduction

Introduce your business, and yourself! A friendly video introduction on the homepage can give customers an insight as to how you do business and lead to better communication of your brand, products, and services in a casual, non-pushy way.

Social Connections

Social media is another way to improve the communication between your company and your customers. It’s also a great way to grow and expand the business through your followers. Drive traffic to your social platforms using links on your website. You can link directly in the text of a blog post, for example, or use icons displayed in your website header, and therefore on every page of your site. It’s up to you how much you advertise your social presence, so consider the benefits of including those connections on your website.
